LOT 307 1806 C-1 R1 Small 6, No Stems, NGC graded XF45 . Glossy dark olive brown with lighter steel brown in some of the protected areas. Smooth and attractive with light wear. Just minor contact marks including a nick in the field over the end of the bust. MDS with the reverse rotated 15 degrees CCW. Our grade is VF35+, close to EF40. Certification Number 2543471-004
LOT 311 1806 C-2 R4 Small 6 with Stems VG7 . Several points sharper with great eye appeal but the obverse was very lightly burnished. Nicely retoned glossy medium chocolate brown. The only notable marks are a dull but obvious scuff in the field near the rim off the lower end of the hair ribbon and a small planchet void at the dentils right of the denominator (as struck). E-MDS. The date is strong and the legends are clear.
BEAUTIFUL RED & BROWN 1806 C-4
LOT 308 1806 C-1 R1 Small 6, No Stems, NGC graded XF45 . Attractive light olive brown. Smooth with trivial marks, none notable, just light wear. EDS. Our grade is VF35. The attribution is noted on the NGC label. Certification Number 6685752-004
LOT 309 1806 C-1 R1 Small 6, No Stems F15 . Ten points sharper but lightly cleaned and recolored light to medium brown mixed with darker olive brown. No roughness but there are tiny contact marks scattered over both sides. A diagonal nick through the right top of the C in CENT is a good identifying mark. Struck with the reverse rotated 30 degrees clockwise.
LOT 312 1806 C-4 R1 Large 6 with Stems, NGC graded MS64 Red & Brown, CAC Approved . Lustrous mint red mellowing to steel brown on the highpoints with nearly half the original mint color remaining, mostly on the reverse. The only significant mark is a small spot of very fine carbon at the dentils over the E in AMERICA. Rather well struck for this variety with minor weakness on the bust and the opposing leaves at the top of the wreath. MDS; the repunching on the 6 is clear and the reverse is rotated 40 degrees clockwise. Most likely from the hoard of mint state pieces of the variety discovered in 1906--now widely disbursed. Our grade is MS64. Certification Number 1995451-001
LOT 310 1806 C-2 R4 Small 6 with Stems, PCGS graded AU55 . Frosty steel brown and chocolate with lighter brown in protected areas, particularly on the reverse. There is light friction on the highpoints and the only notable mark is a dark spot of very fine carbon near the dentils left of the lower curls. Otherwise this piece is choice. LDS, Manley state 3.0, Fuhrman state 3 (a die state rated Rarity-7 by Fuhrman), with a strong die crack arcing through the lower part of the 6 and end of the bust. Graded EF45 net VF35 in the Noyes census, his photo #88070. Our grade is net EF40. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Certification Number 35194.55/27959285
