LOT 303 1804 C-11 R2 Plain 4 with Stems F12 . At least 5 points sharper but there are fine scratches on the portrait and tiny contact marks scattered over both sides. A dull vertical scratch close off the chin is the best identifying mark. All the marks blend nicely into the slightly glossy chocolate and lighter brown toning, and the eye appeal is rather nice. MDS with subtle swelling at the top of the bow on the reverse. Struck with the reverse rotated 20 degrees clockwise.

LOT 299 1804 C-8 R1 Spiked Chin VF20 . At least 5 points sharper but lightly burnished and nicely retoned glossy chocolate and olive brown with bluish steel overtones. Smooth with trivial marks. MDS. Lightly cracked at LIBERTY and the Spiked Chin feature is obvious.

LOT 304 1804 C-12 R2 Crosslet 4, No Stems VF20 . Sharpness near VF30 but there are some very light scratches and ticks on both sides, most not visible to the unaided eye. Frosty chocolate and lighter steel brown. MDS. Softly struck at ERTY and the opposing ICA to the denominator.

LOT 300 1804 C-8 R1 Spiked Chin, NGC VF Details, Cleaned . Frosty medium steel brown with lighter steel brown in protected areas. Lightly cleaned and nicely retoned. No marks or other defects. MDS. The “Spiked Chin” is obvious. Our grade is VF20 sharpness net F15. The attribution is noted on the NGC label. Certification Number 6685628-012

LOT 305 1804 C-13 R1 Plain 4, No Stems VF20+ . Close to VF25 but there is a thin nick under the end of the hair ribbon, a light scratch hidden in the hair left of the neck, and a couple small rim nicks on both sides. Otherwise smooth and attractive for the grade. Glossy light chocolate brown with some lighter brown in protected areas on the reverse. MDS. LOT 306 Trio of Half Cents, 1804-1853 . Includes 1804 C-13 Plain 4 without Stems Fair-2 bent, 1828 C-3 XF40 cleaned net VF30, and 1853 C-1 VG8 but polished. Lot of 3 coins.

LOT 301 1804 C-10 R1 VF35 . Ten points sharper but there is a dull, darker area at UN that is covered with extremely fine carbon. Otherwise quite nice with very little wear and no notable marks. Glossy medium chocolate with lighter brown and tan in protected areas. LDS, Manley state 3.0. The dentils are gone.
