LOT 245 1787 Machin’s Mills Vlack 21-87D, W-7970 R4, PCGS graded VF30 . Slightly glossy steel brown with lighter brown on the devices. No contact marks or verdigris, but the fields and protected areas are covered with fine roughness. The roughness is strongest at BRI on the reverse. Early die state with a strong date and clear legends. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Certification Number 826960.30/40497046

LOT 248 1787 Nova Eborac (New York), Reverse Figure Seated Left Breen-986, W-5755 R3, PCGS graded XF40 . Choice glossy chocolate and olive brown with underlying lighter brown in the fields. Smooth and very attractive. The only marks are a thin planchet fissure from the rim to the top of the head (as struck) and a small nick on the floret behind the head. Struck slightly off center to K-7 leaving parts of the legend off the planchet. The date was lightly punched into the die and is not strong, but it is easily readable on this example. Certification Number 478.40/43282894

LOT 246 1787 Machin’s Mills Vlack 21-87D, W-7970 R4 VF25 . Glossy chocolate brown with lighter brown on the devices. The surfaces look perfectly smooth but a glass reveals some microscopic roughness, mostly at the bust. The only identifying mark is a small planchet chip at the top of the head. LOT 249 1787 Nova Eborac (New York), Reverse Figure Seated Right Breen-987, W-5760 R4, PCGS graded VF20 . Rather glossy light brown with dark olive brown in protected areas. The eye appeal of this piece is quite nice for the grade, but fine roughness covers all but the highpoints. No verdigris and the only contact marks are a couple fine hairline scratches hidden in the toning on the obverse. LDS with a cud break on the right side of the reverse. The date is strong. Certification Number 475.20/43119821

LOT 247 1788 Machin’s Mills Vlack 23-88A, W-8100 R2 VF25 . Sharper but there are some marks including thin nicks at the chin and throat, a planchet fissure at the rim left of the shoulder, a small planchet chip on the jaw bone near the hair, and a rim bruise left of the date. Glossy dark olive brown with lighter olive brown on the highpoints. Looks smooth to the unaided eye but a glass reveals minor roughness and verdigris in the fields and protected areas. The date and legends are all bold. Great detail, just not perfect. Weight 104.9 grains.
