LOT 241 1787 Machin’s Mills Vlack 18-87C, W-7930 R4+, PCGS graded XF45 . Light olive and steel brown. Very fine roughness covers the fields and protected areas on the obverse but everything else is smooth and the eye appeal is quite nice. No verdigris, only a few trivial marks. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Certification Number 826958.45/41657230

LOT 242 1787 Machin’s Mills Vlack 19-87C, W-7940 R2, PCGS graded F12 . Slightly glossy light to medium brown with darker olive brown and steel in protected areas. Covered with fine roughness mixed with hairline scratches on both sides. No verdigris and none of the scratches is visible to the unaided eye. Looks better than it may sound. The date is strong and the legends are easily readable. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. (The holder is badly scuffed.). Certification Number 826959.12/43306286

LOT 243 1787 Machin’s Mills Vlack 19-87C, W-7940 R2 VG10 . Glossy dark olive brown. There are traces of microscopic roughness under the glossy patina, mostly at ITAN, but overall the planchet is reasonably smooth. The only marks are some vertical hairline scratches along the back of the portrait, all blended nicely into the toning so they do not catch your eye. Rare terminal die state with heavily worn dies and a planchet diameter of 28.3 to 28.5 millimeters. The date is now quite weak, only the 87 is visible (and it is weak), plus die rust at the throat and EX. A neat die state. Weight 117.4 grains.

LOT 244 1787 Machin’s Mills Vlack 21-87D, W-7970 R4, NGC graded VF30 . Glossy dark olive brown with light brown on the highpoints. The highpoints are smooth but the remainder of the planchet is covered with extremely fine granularity, strongest in the field at the chin. No verdigris and the only contact mark is a tiny scratch under the shoulder on the obverse. Nicely struck early die state with a bold date and strong legends. The attribution and Long Island Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. Certification Number 6322955-003
