LOT 188 1787 Connecticut Miller 33.38-Z.6 R5+ DBL, NGC graded XF45 . Reddish chocolate brown and steel. Covered with very fine roughness, strongest at the top of the reverse where there are many tiny planchet fissures. Lightly worn with no notable contact marks, but there are traces of fine verdigris in a few places. A thin horizontal fissure on the chest of the seated figure can help identify this piece. Later die state but not the latest with die cracks and swelling on both sides. Looks better than it might sound. The date is clear in spite of swelling in that area. The attribution and Long Island Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. Certification Number 6061902-012

BEAUTIFUL M.33.39-S.1 EX HANSON-PARTRICK
LOT 189 1787 Connecticut Miller 33.39-s.1 R4 DBL, NGC graded AU58 . Very attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Nicely struck with superior eye appeal. There are some very tiny planchet flakes on the reverse, mostly at the neck and LI, but you need a glass to see them. The edge of the planchet is a bit ragged at the top of the reverse, as struck. Later die state with flowline frost at the legends, especially on the obverse. The reverse is centered on the planchet while the obverse is slightly off center to K-3. A beautiful Connecticut copper. The attribution and Hanson-Donald G. Partrick Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. Certification Number 2051374-021

LOT 190 1787 Connecticut Miller 33.40-Z.1 R5 DBL VF20 . A nicely detailed Very Fine where the designs are properly struck up, but the lower half of the obverse and upper part of the reverse are weakly struck due to swelling associated with the late die state. Rather glossy light to medium brown with medium chocolate brown toning in protected areas. The planchet is covered with microscopic roughness on all but the highpoints, which are smooth. A small flake at the bottom of the bust, another at the top of the U in AUCTORI, and a pair of small fissures in the field before the head of the seated figure are the notable planchet defects. A thin, old scratch through ET is the only contact mark. Both dies are swollen, especially the reverse, the latest state seen. The date is complete and strong in spite of the swelling in that area and most of the legends are clear. Weight 128.3 grains.
