LOT 144 1787 Connecticut Miller 32.2-X.2 R5- DBL, PCGS graded XF40 . Glossy light to medium chocolate brown. Perfectly smooth except for a few tiny planchet chips on the neck and a couple minor laminations at the top of the reverse. Late die state with a narrow rim cud at the top of the reverse and a crack along the left side of the first 7, but the cud is not as strong as seen on the preceding lot. The attribution is written in the field before the portrait, but the dark reddish ink is quite faded. Weight 136.0 grains. The attribution and Robert M. LOT 146 1787 Connecticut Miller 33.1-Z.13 R5- DBL, PCGS graded XF40 . Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with some mahogany tones in protected areas. Smooth with trivial planchet chipping on the head and lower part of the seated figure. The only notable mark is a small spot of very fine verdigris under the right foot of the R in AUCTORI. Struck slightly off center to K-1 leaving the bottom of the date tight to the edge. Minor swelling shows under AUC. Weight 142.2 grains. The attribution and Robert M. LOT 145 1787 Connecticut Miller 32.3-X.4 R2 DBL VF25 . Choice glossy medium brown blending to chocolate in protected areas. Smooth and very attractive, just moderately worn. The only marks are two tiny rim bruises at the bottom of the obverse and top of the reverse. Struck slightly off center to K-8 affecting the dentils and a couple of the cinquefoils on the reverse. A relatively common but beautiful mid grade Connecticut. Weight 161.9 grains.
LOT 147 1787 Connecticut Miller 33.1-Z.13 R5 DBL, PCGS graded VF30 . Glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Smooth and nearly flawless except for a planchet flake at the back of the head on the reverse. Later die state with a strong die crack connecting the O in CONNEC to the rim. The swelling under AUC is obvious. Struck with the reverse rotated 60 degrees clockwise. A very nice piece. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Certification Number 685202.30/46409452
