 MILLER 13-D WITH MINT RED

LOT 129 1787 Connecticut Miller 13-D R2 MBL AU55 . Frosty light to medium brown with steel brown toning on the highpoints and traces of lustrous mint red showing on both sides. Just the lightest touch of friction on the highest points of the devices. Unfortunately the right side of the planchet is smooth and lustrous while the left side is covered with planchet fissures and small voids. A fine scratch through the E in CONNEC is the only contact mark. Late die state with obvious swelling at CON and myriad very fine cracks on the reverse. Struck with the reverse rotated about 30 degrees clockwise. Certainly not perfect but how often do you see a lustrous Connecticut that has traces of original mint red showing. Weight 103.4 grains.

LOT 130 1787 Connecticut Miller 14-H R3 MBL, PCGS graded AU50 . Frosty golden steel with dark steel and olive brown on the highpoints. Possibly lightly cleaned and retoned long ago. Mostly smooth but there is planchet chipping and weakness on the head and the opposing area below the waist of the seated figure and at the date (as struck). No contact marks or corrosion/verdigris. The date is weakened by the chipping but remains easily readable. Comes with a nice provenance. The attribution and Robert M. Martin Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Certification Number 686370.50/38407362

LOT 131 1787 Connecticut Miller 15-F R3 MBL, PCGS graded VF35 . Glossy medium brown with light reddish chocolate in protected areas. There is a depression under the second C in CONNECT that contains very fine roughness, and there are planchet flaws at the rim near the shoulder and across the upper part of the seated figure. Later die state from worn dies with portions of the legend and date weak. Struck off center to K-1. The attribution and Twin Leaf provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Certification Number 686371.35/36857261
