LOT 116 1787 Connecticut Miller 1.3-L R6 MBR VG8 . Sharper, especially on the reverse, but covered with fine to moderate roughness, strongest on the left of both sides. Much of the roughness may have been in the planchet pre-striking, but certainly not all of it. Partly glossy medium brown with some crusty olive brown in protected areas. No verdigris and the only notable marks are a couple light scratches from the throat into the field towards the E in CONNEC. The date is strong and the legends are readable, although several letters are weak. Plated in the 1971 Taxay reference. An acceptable example of a very rare variety that seldom comes with nice surfaces. Weight 112.5 grains.

LOT 118 1787 Connecticut Miller 4-L R1 MBL, PCGS graded VF30 . Glossy chocolate brown and steel with smooth, very attractive surfaces. The only marks are a small rim bruise on the left side of the reverse and two specks of raised greenish verdigris under the T in ET. Intermediate die state with a well advanced “horn” up from the bust. The attribution and Twin Leaf provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Certification Number 686406.30/36857114
