LOT 108 1786 Connecticut Miller 5.4-O.1 R2 MBL, PCGS graded VF30 . Attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Smooth with no contact marks or corrosion, but there are some obvious planchet flaws. A linear fissure across the bottom of the obverse and a chunk out of the rim behind the head of the seated figure are the notable defects. The bottom of the date is slightly off the planchet but everything is readable. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Certification Number 686353.30/08403870

LOT 110 1786 Connecticut Miller 5.8-F R5 MBL, PCGS graded VF20 . Glossy light golden brown blending to reddish light chocolate in protected areas. Smooth and quite nice for the grade, just lightly worn. A planchet chip at the rim under the bust is the only defect. Later die state with obvious swelling at the globe that weakened the top of the 86. Weight 132.9 grains. The attribution and Twin Leaf provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Certification Number 686359.20/36857304

LOT 109 1786 Connecticut Miller 5.5-M R3 MBL, PCGS graded F15 . Mostly glossy dark chocolate brown with lighter brown on the highpoints. A bit dull from uniform extremely fine granularity hidden under the toning. No contact marks or verdigris. The only defect is a chip out of the planchet at the rim left of the date. The bottom of the date is tight to the edge of the planchet but it remains easily readable. The attribution and Twin Leaf provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Certification Number 686354.15/36857298

LOT 111 1786 Connecticut Miller 5.8-H.2 R5+ MBL VF25 . Glossy light olive brown with a couple puffs of slightly darker brown on the obverse. Mostly smooth but there is very fine roughness in the fields and protected areas, strongest at the 1 in the date. There is a speck of raised verdigris at the throat, but you need a glass to see it. The obverse is slightly misaligned to K-2 while the reverse is nearly centered on the planchet. Unevenly struck, as usual, with stronger details on the lower obverse and upper reverse. The date is easily readable and the 86 is complete (the date is mostly off the planchet on the Taylor and Perkins examples). Later die state with a cud break at the D in INDE. Weight 139.7 grains.

Ex Steven L. Tanenbaum-2000 EAC Convention bourse-W. M. “Jack” Wadlington (the Twin Leaf Collection)-the Copper Mountain Collection (includes the Tanenbaum sales envelope and Wadlington collection note)
