LOT 559 1834 N-4 R1 Large 8, Small Stars, Medium Letters, EF45 . Glossy light to medium brown with lighter golden tan highpoints. The only marks are a small spot of darker toning with fine carbon under star 5 and a swipe of frosty lavender toning at the dentils over IC in AMERICA. MDS, Grellman state c, with die rust around UNITED STATES and no crack at stars 12-13.

LOT 556 1834 N-1 R1 Small 8, Large Stars, Medium Letters, PCGS graded AU55, CAC Approved . Very attractive glossy medium brown with frosty lighter brown in protected areas. Just light wear on the highpoints and minor contact marks including some thin nicks on the chin, ticks in the field off the chin, and a tiny scratch off the end of the wreath stem. MDS, Grellman state c, with crumbling on the right side of star 4 and repunching visible inside the C in AMERICA. Our grade is EF45+, very close to AU50. (The back of the holder is lightly scuffed.). LOT 560 1834 N-5 R5 Large Date & Stars, Medium Letters VF30 . Sharpness EF45 or slightly better but there numerous light scratches on both sides, mostly inside the wreath. The marks on the obverse are lighter and include a collection of fine scratches in the field over the head and a couple across the neck into the hair right of the ear plus a fresh nick on the tip of the nose. Looks nice to the unaided eye but the marks are a distraction when placed under magnification. Frosty medium olive and steel brown with flowline luster in protected areas. There is some strike doubling on the end of the nose, lips, and back of the ear. A sharp example of this popular “Redbook” variety.

LOT 557 1834 N-2 R1 Small 8, Large Stars, Medium Letters EF45 . A sharp cent with just a trace of friction on the devices. Would rate a higher grade but there some marks including a stain of dark steel toning on the neck and a scratch at CE in CENT that passes across the line below that N ending in the wreath. Frosty light brown with steel brown toning on the highpoints. MDS, Grellman state c early. The spikes up from the dentils under the 834 are weak, nearly gone.

LOT 558 1834 N-3 R1 Large 8, Small Stars, Medium Letters, PCGS graded MS62 Brown . Frosty light brown and steel. Sharply detailed, very close to mint state, but there are traces of carbon on about a third of the dentils, mostly on the reverse. In addition there is an area of extremely fine roughness from star 2 to star 3 with a few tiny pin pricks right of star 3. LDS, Grellman state b, with a die crack through stars 12 & 13 to the dentils off both ends. Struck with the reverse rotated 40 degrees clockwise. Our grade is AU58 sharpness net AU50. Certification Number 1699.62/83090697

LOT 561 1834 N-6 R3 Large Date, Stars, & Letters VF30 . Choice glossy light to medium brown. Smooth and very attractive. A dull rim nick at the bottom of the reverse is the only notable mark. EDS, Grellman state a, without the triangular lump at the dentils right of star 8.
