LOT 522 1830 N-2 R2 AU50 . Frosty steel brown. Satiny mint luster covers the fields and protected areas. The only marks worthy of mention are a planchet flake high on the cheek near the hair, a small spot of reddish corrosion at the end of the chin, and another at the lower point of star 12. Not fully struck, which is typical of this variety, but there is just a touch of wear on the highpoints. M-LDS, Grellman state b late. The die line from the leaf to the bottom of the U is faint, nearly gone.

 ROTATED REVERSE

LOT 523 1830 N-3 R3 EF40 . Beautiful glossy light chocolate brown with frosty lighter brown and tan in protected areas. A choice cent with great eye appeal and very light wear. MDS with the reverse rotated 170 degrees CCW, nearly upset head-to-head.

LOT 524 1830 N-4 R2 NGC graded AU55 . Glossy light brown and chocolate with frosty lighter golden brown in protected areas. Smooth surfaces and the only notable marks are a fine hairline scratch over the 830 to star 13 and some microscopic hairlines on the face and cheek. MDS, Grellman state b, with a radial crack from the right top of the E in UNITED to the dentils above in addition to the earlier cracks on both sides. There is a double profile on the forehead and end of the nose (from die bounce or “machine doubling,” not a doubled die. Our grade is EF45+, close to AU50 . 3698519-007
