LOT 507 1828 N-8 R3 EF40+ . Frosty tan and light brown with steel brown toning on the highpoints. Trivial marks and smooth surfaces. The best identifying mark is a trace of reddish steel toning at NIT. EDS, Grellman state a, with an uncracked reverse. A very nice example of the variety, CC#6. Removed from an NGC holder graded AU58 (NGC label #570145-007 included).
LOT 504 1828 N-5 R2 EF40+ . Glossy light olive brown with overtones of sea-green and light bluish steel. Sharply struck with smooth surfaces and trivial marks. The only notable marks are a very light curved scratch over star 2 and a nick in the field before the brow. E-MDS, Grellman state b early. There is a very fine crack through the top of TED but the fine arc line over ICA is still visible. Removed from a PCGS holder graded AU50 (PCGS label #1654.50/20898697 included).

LOT 508 1828 N-9 R4 VF30+ . Frosty steel brown and chocolate with satiny lighter steel brown in protected areas. Very close to VF35 with some small marks including a dull nick on the jawline near the throat and a collection of tiny scratches close to the hair under star 8. Neither mark is distracting and this cent has very nice eye appeal. MDS.
LOT 505 1828 N-6 R1 EF45+ . Frosty dark steel brown with lighter brown in protected areas, especially on the reverse. Close to AU50 but there are a few marks including a microscopic ticks right of the date and a small splash of darker toning below the wreath ribbon. LDS, Grellman state d, with fine die cracks on the obverse in addition to the always present tiny lumps from die rust.

LOT 509 1828 N-10 R1 Small Date, PCGS graded XF40 . Frosty medium chocolate brown. Smooth with just a couple contact marks including a very light diagonal scratch right of star 5 and a dull scratch tucked under NITE. Neither mark catches your eye. There are traces of fine dirt tucked into some of the most protected places on both sides. E-MDS, Grellman state a, with faint radial flowlines from the dentil tips and no crack from the bust tip. Our grade is EF40. (The holder is scuffed.). 1657.40/28011958
LOT 506 1828 N-7 R3 F15 . Glossy dark olive brown with lighter steel brown toning on the devices. The toning is a relatively thick patina and there is a trace of verdigris at the leaves under TA in STATES. No notable marks. LDS, Grellman state b, with lumps from die rust on the obverse.
