EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS
LOT 423 1819 N-6 R1 EF45+ . Frosty medium brown with lighter brown in protected areas. Sharply struck with light wear on the devices and just a few marks. A nick on star 3 into the dentils is the only defect worthy of mention. EDS, Grellman state a, with sharp dentils around both sides. A nice cent, close to AU50.
LOT 426 1819 N-8 R1 VF25 . Glossy dark olive brown. Ten points sharper and mostly smooth, but there are some microscopic pits on the reverse, particularly inside the wreath. The notable contact marks are some dull nicks left of star 6, another at the left top of the 8, and two scratches at the 81. E-MDS, Grellman state a late. The die line connecting the feet of the A & T in STATES is weak.

LOT 424 1819 N-7 R4 VF35 . Slightly sharper but there is a small pin prick right of star 3, a light vertical scratch right of star 4, and a very light rim bruise under star 1. Otherwise quite nice and the reverse looks choice EF45. Frosty medium brown and reddish steel. MDS with small lumps from die rust on the reverse, as always in this die marriage. At the lower edge of the condition census for this tough variety.

LOT 427 1819 N-9 R1 MS60 . Frosty medium steel and light olive. The surfaces are satiny and nearly flawless. Some tiny ticks on the cheek and two more on the truncation are the only notable defects. LDS, Grellman state b. The repunching over the top of the R in AMERICA is faint, nearly gone. Probably from the Randall Hoard of mint state cents.
LOT 425 1819 N-8 R1 PCGS graded MS62 Brown . Lustrous light greenish olive and golden brown, a classic “Greenie.” Sharply struck and very attractive. There are some small contact marks scattered over both sides; the notable ones are a dull nick under the right corner of the eye and a quartet of dull ticks right of the E in ONE. Sharp EDS, Grellman state a, with sharp dentils and a line between the feet of the A & T in STATES. Most likely a survivor from the Randall Hoard of mint state cents. Our grade is MS60. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Certification Number 36649.62/42625400
