LOT 417 1819/8 N-1 R1 Overdate 9 over 8 EF45 . Glossy light to medium brown mixed with darker steel brown, mostly on the highpoints. Lustrous lighter steel brown covers the protected areas on both sides. Just a few marks including a scratch-like impression (probably from the rim of another coin) over star 3 and some tiny ticks in the field off the chin. LDS, Grellman state c, with all the obverse rim cud breaks from star 6 to beyond star 11 mentioned by Grellman plus a clearly defined rim cud over the R in AMERICA. Latest example seen. The overdate feature is still clear and the reverse is rotated 25 degrees clockwise.

LOT 420 1819 N-3 R3- Close Stars, PCGS graded AU58, CAC Approved . Very attractive frosty light brown with slightly darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. There is light friction on the highpoints and mint luster covers the fields and protected areas, especially on the reverse. The notable marks are a light nick on the B in LIBERTY and a light, curved scratch in the field under star 5. Neither mark catches your eye. MDS, Grellman state b, with a fine crack from the bust tip to near the right point of star 1. The repunching at the right top of the N in UNITED is still visible. Our grade is AU50+ . The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Certification Number 36634.58/39822529

LOT 418 1819/8 N-2 R1 Large Overdate 9 over 8 VF35 . Slightly sharper but lightly cleaned. Glossy steel brown and light olive with subtle overtones of light bluish steel. No marks or verdigris, just trivial contact marks. A very well hidden nick on the nose close to the eye is a good identifying mark, but you need a glass to see it. MDS, Grellman state b, with die rust (tiny lumps on the coin) showing on both sides, strongest at the bottom of the reverse. The dentil fusing under star 1 has not formed and the overdate feature is still visible.

LOT 421 1819 N-4 R3 Close Stars EF40 . Frosty medium steel and grayish brown with traces of lighter brown on both sides. Satiny and attractive with light wear and nice eye appeal. A very shallow linear planchet void over star 4 and a nick in the hair over the E in LIBERTY are the only notable marks. The reverse is flawless. M-LDS, Grellman state b. The die line connecting the feet of the T & E in STATES is dull, barely visible. A nice example of the variety, at the lower end of the condition census.

LOT 419 1819/8 N-2 R1 Large Overdate 9 over 8 AU58+ . Frosty light steel brown. Satiny mint frost covers the fields and this cent has solid mint state eye appeal. Just a hint of friction on the very highest points of the devices and no notable marks. A small planchet void in the dentils at star 6 is the best identifying mark. M-LDS, Grellman state c, with a small rim cud under star 1. Die rust is still evident on both sides and the overdate feature is weak but still visible. Removed from an older generation PCGS holder graded MS62BN (PCGS label #1603.62/9252008 included).

LOT 422 1819 N-5 R3 VF30 . Sharpness near EF40 with a few too many light contact marks for the higher grade, especially inside the wreath. Glossy light steel brown and olive with splashes of reddish brown toning at stars 9-11. A very thin vertical nick on the cheek right of the mouth is a good identifying mark. M-LDS, Grellman state b. The die line connecting the feet of the T & E in STATES no longer reaches the T.
