FRED BORCHERDT’S HALL OF FAME COLLECTION 1793-1814 CENTS

LOT 261 1800 S-205 R4 PCGS XF Detail, Altered Surfaces . Glossy steel brown and chocolate with frosty lighter brown and golden tan in protected areas, especially on the reverse. Lightly worn with smooth surfaces and very nice eye appeal, but there are some marks that keep this cent from a higher grade. The notable marks are a few dull scratches on the neck and a couple thin planchet fissures left of the lowest curls (as struck). M-LDS, Breen state III early. The die crack at TRY reaches the end of the ribbon and the denominator, and the dull die clashmarks at TY and to the right are clear. Graded VF35 net VF30 and CC#11 in the Noyes census, his photo #25979. Our grade is VF35+ sharpness net VF30. 36203.94/61468279
