EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 809 1846 N-7 R2+ Stray 4 in Dentils VF30. Frosty tan and light brown with dark steel on the highpoints, especially on the obverse. Minor marks, none notable. MDS, die state c, with fie die cracks on the reverse but no cud break on the obverse.

LOT 806 1846 N-2 R2 Repunched 1 VF30. At least 10 points sharper but there are traces of microscopic roughness on both sides, mostly near the dentils under the date, plus a few nicks on the neck and face. None of the marks or microscopic roughness is visible to the unaided eye. Rather glossy chocolate and olive brown with golden tan in protected areas, especially on the obverse. Sharply struck EDS, die state a. The repunching left of the 1 is clear. A sharp cent that has very nice eye appeal.
