 EQUAL SECOND FINEST N-18

LOT 682 1854 N-18 R2+ MS63. Frosty light steel brown with slightly faded mint red in the protected areas on both sides. Satiny mint luster covers this cent and the only defects are a very light horizontal scratch on the neck with a tiny planchet flake or struck-through void just above the scratch. Otherwise this cent would rate a higher grade. LDS, die state c. The die lines at the E in ONE are gone and die clashmarks show on both sides. Tied for CC#2 honors in the Grellman census.

 EXTREMELY RARE UNCRACKED N-19

LOT 683 1854 N-19 R3 VF25. Five points sharper with too many light contact marks on the obverse for the sharpness grade. A single nick between the bottoms of the S and adjacent O in OF can help identify this cent. Glossy medium brown. Extremely rare EDS, die state a, with an uncracked obverse. CC#3 of only 10 confirmed uncracked examples in the Grellman census
