LOT 902 1854 N-13 R3+ VF25. Five points sharper but there is a dig at the top of the E in STATES. Otherwise nice for the grade with trivial marks and smooth surfaces. Glossy light olive and steel brown. MDS, die state b. The earlier lines at S-OF are gone but some of the vertical lines below the 5 are still visible.

LOT 906 1854 N-25 R3 Stray 4 in Curls VF30. Sharpness EF40 with a fine diagonal scratch high on the neck and a rim dent at the D in UNITED. Glossy light olive and brown with flowline frost in protected areas. M-LDS, die state b. The fields are flowlined and die clashmarks show on both sides. The serif of the stray 4 is visible hanging down from the curl over the right side of the normal 4.

LOT 903 1854 N-17 R1 VF35. Glossy medium brown. Smooth with light wear and very nice eye appeal. A thin vertical nick on the middle of the jawline is the only notable defect. M-LDS, die state c early. The die lines at NITED are gone but the reverse is uncracked.

LOT 907 1854 N-29 R3 EF45+. Sharpness close to mint state but there are some faint scratches on the cheek and neck plus a few small nicks on the cheek. The scratches are invisible to the unaided eye and barely visible with a glass. Attractive glossy light olive brown with some darker reddish olive brown at the top of the reverse. E-MDS, die state b, with die clashmarks on both sides including a doubled clashmark at the left top of the O in ONE.

LOT 904 1854 N-20 R3 Stray 1 in Dentils EF40. Ten points sharper with a reddish stain at stars 5-7 and a couple minor rim bruises on both sides. Specks of verdigris can be found in the reddish stain. Otherwise frosty light to medium brown. E-MDS, die state a late. The die line at the throat is dull but still visible. The top of the stray 1 is clearly visible under the right side of the 8.

LOT 908 1855 N-4 R1 Upright 55 VF30. Ten points sharper with small contact marks scattered over both sides, mostly on the obverse. A thin diagonal nick at the throat is the only notable mark, but there are too many of the smaller ones to ignore. Glossy light olive and medium brown. E-MDS, die state a. The reverse is uncracked and the tip of the coronet is softly struck.

LOT 905 1854 N-23 R2 VF35. Five points sharper but there are a couple dull scratches between stars 1 & 2. Otherwise quite nice with smooth surfaces and very nice eye appeal. Frosty light olive brown and steel. LDS, die state b. The earlier die lines are gone and the fields are lightly flowlined.
