LOT 360 1846 N-8 R-1 Small Date PCGS AU55 CAC Approved . Attractive golden brown with hints of light steel toning on some high points and subtle vertical streaks on the central to lower reverse. There are trivial nicks scattered on the fields and devices, nothing major but enough to warrant mention. Those include one over the eye, one atop star 13, and one on the rim above the last S in STATES. E-MDS(a). Smooth, glossy surfaces. Our grade is XF40. 1865.55/26901666
LOT 363 1846 N-21 R-5+ TCC#3 w/ Obv Rim Break VF20 . 5 points sharper but there is a dull scratch behind the head. Semi-glossy medium chocolate and steel browns. Smooth surfaces. LDS(b) with the obverse rim break over star 7. This is TCC#3 of 12 known with the obverse rim break in the Grellman census.

LOT 364 1847 N-1 R2 Repunched Date, PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC Approved . Lustrous medium steel brown with 5% of the mint red remaining on the obverse, 25% on the reverse. Satiny and lustrous but there are a few marks. There is a thin vertical streak of darker brown toning right of star 3, a puff of reddish brown toning at the bottom of the 4, and a spot of very shallow carbon on the left side of the E in ONE. M-LDS, die state c, with die cracks on the reverse. Repunching is visible at the lower left of all 4 digits of the date. Our grade is MS60+ , tied for CC#8 in the Grellman census. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. 37268.63/28453818
LOT 361 1846 N-10 R5- AU50 . Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with frosty lighter steel brown and golden tan in protected areas. A small spot in the dentils under the wreath ribbon is the only notable mark. Sharply struck MDS, die state a, prior to any rim cud breaks. A very nice example of this tough die variety, just lightly worn on the highpoints. Our grade is AU50, tied for CC#7 in the Grellman census. Removed from a PCGS holder graded AU58 (PCGS label #403880.58/16210062 included, and it shows the attribution)
