yes LOT 359 1846 N-7 R2+ AU50 . Sharpness close to mint state

but covered with very tiny nicks, mostly on the obverse. None of the marks is notable but there are too many too many to ignore. Looks mint state to the unaided eye. The only other mark is a small, inconspicuous splash of darker toning between the A & M in AMERICA. Frosty light steel brown with faded mint red in protected areas, especially on the reverse. Rare LDS, die state d, with a strong rim cud from star 13 to the 6. Tied for CC#3 of those known with the cud break in the Grellman census. Comes with a great provenance. Ex Howard R. Newcomb-John P. EDS, die state a, with sharp die lines at the throat and neck and no die cracks on the reverse. Softly struck on the top of the ear and on the coronet over LI, as always on this variety.
