EARLY AMERICAN COPPER SOCIETY AUCTION 2025
LOT 97
1793 S-10 R4 Wreath Cent with Vine & Bars Edge, PCGS VF Detail, Environmental Damage . A sharp cent with solid VF detail, but the planchet is covered with uniform microscopic roughness. No verdigris, and the color is an rather attractive steel brown and chocolate. Just a couple trivial marks including a small nick between the bases of the N & I in UNITED and a dull tick on the left side of the O in ONE. EDS, Breen state I, with distorted but complete border beads before the face. Struck very slightly off center to K-12 but both sides show complete border beads. Our grade is net F15. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. 35462.97/35203919
LOT 100 1793 S-11c R3- Wreath Cent with Lettered Edge VG10 . Ten points sharper but smoothed in the fields on the obverse and over most of the reverse. Fine vertical scratches cover the field before the portrait. Recolored chocolate and olive brown with slightly lighter brown on the highpoints. No verdigris. There is a small swipe of brassy planchet impurity in the field behind the portrait and a rather deep planchet chip in the leaves under the A in STATES. Looks better than it sounds, particularly on the obverse, but far from perfect. MDS with die clashmarks evident at the throat. The date and legends are complete and clear, and the edge lettering is bold.

LOT 98
1793 S-11a R4+ Wreath Cent with Vine & Bars Edge, PCGS graded VG8 . Glossy olive brown and chocolate with slightly lighter brown on the devices. Smooth with just a few minor marks including an old, light scratch in the field before the neck and a very light rim bruise at IT in UNITED. LDS. The date is strong and the legends are readable (although the top of AMERICA is starting to fade into the rim thanks to excessive die polishing associated with the late die state). Our grade is VG7 (obverse VG8, reverse G6) . (Both sides of the holder are scuffed.) 1347.08/28073727

LOT 101 1793 S-11c R-3- Lettered Edge Wreath Cent NGC VF Details (Environmental Damage) . VF30 sharpness but very light, microscopic roughness covers the surfaces except for the high points, which are smooth. Deep chocolate and steel patina, with only a couple trivial rim bumps at K-2 on the obverse and K-3 on the revese. Despite the minor surface issues, the details are sharp and it has a nice appeal. Our grade is VF20. 4352740-002
