EARLY AMERICAN COPPER SOCIETY AUCTION 2025

LOT 726 1802/0 C-2 Reverse of 1802 Electrotype Copy VF30 . Choice light brown with hints of the base metal showing on the high points and extremely light microporosity visible under a glass. The only marks are a couple small scratches between M-E in AMERICA. Otherwise glossy surfaces with decent appeal on this electrotype copy of the 1802/0 C-2 MDS half cent.

LOT 730 1836 Original Proof-Only, Electrotype COPY MS60 . Glossy medium brown. The surfaces are a bit granular, as made, but there are no marks or spots. The edge is lightly smoothed but there is no trace of a seam.

LOT 731 1840 Original Proof-Only, Electrotype COPY AU55 . Attractive glossy brown and light chocolate. Choice except for a speck of base metal at the dentils over ES.

LOT 727 1831 First Restrike Proof-Only, Electrotype COPY AU50 . A well-executed copy with sharp details with smooth surfaces. There is no trace of an edge seam but the coin was lightly cleaned leaving behind some faint hairlines. Light brown and chocolate with mellowed red in protected areas.

LOT 732 1840 Second Restrike Small Berries Electrotype Copy XF40 . The obverse is medium brown with over half the surfaces showing the underlying base metal, the reverse is mostly medium brown with hints of the base metal on the rims and a couple spots under IC in AMERICA. Free of marks, just a few spots of granularity around the obverse peripheries. Glossy, smooth surfaces otherwise on this electrotype copy of the second restrike proof 1840 half cent.

LOT 728 1831 First Restrike Proof-Only, Electrotype COPY EF40 . Similar to the preceding lot but not quite as smooth and the edge has been lightly smoothed. Glossy brown and chocolate with a few small spots of roughness on the edge. Nice eye appeal.

LOT 733 1841 Original Proof-Only, Electrotype COPY AU50 . Sharp and quite attractive with glossy brown and chocolate toning. A few spots of fine carbon on the rims and a speck of corrosion at the hair under star 8.

LOT 729 1831 First Restrike Proof-Only, Electrotype COPY EF40 . Another sharp, attractive example with brown and light chocolate toning. There is powdery debris around stars 8-13 and traces of smoothing on the edge. Another very nice copy.
