DECEPTIVE 1796 WITH POLE

LOT 719 1793 C-2 Liberty Cap Half Cent, Electrotype COPY VF25 . Partly glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. Covered with uniform microscopic granularity but essentially as made.

LOT 720 1793 C-2 Liberty Cap Half Cent, Electrotype COPY VF20 . Virtually identical to the preceding but with a bit more roughness.

yes LOT 724 1796 C-2 Half Cent With Pole, Electrotype COPY VG10 . Glossy dark olive brown and steel. Smooth and attractive with just a few trivial contact marks. A deceptive electrotype copy with just a couple specks of underlying base metal peeking through on the edge. A decent copy of this rare date.

LOT 721 1793 C-3 Head Left Electrotype Copy VF25 . Light brown with the underlying base metal showing on most of the high points. The only mark is a rim bruise below 3 in the date. Sharp details.

LOT 722 1793 C-3 Head Left Electrotype Copy VF25 . Light brown and chocolate browns with the base metal showing on some high points and a bit of microporosity on the central areas and left obverse field. Sharp details.

LOT 725 1802/0 C-2 Overdate 2 over 0, Electrotype COPY EF40 . A very nice copy of the Brobston-Missouri Cabinet example. Frosty medium brown and light chocolate with medium grey base metal showing on the highpoints. The two scratches at ME that are present on the original example are visible on this copy.

Tuesday, May 20 th , 2025 5PM CST LOT 723 1795 C-1 Electrotype Copy AU50 . Nice medium brown with even a bit of red at LIBERTY and 9 in the date. There are scattered specks of lead on either side, but otherwise this is a well preserved electrotype made from the mint state, EDS coin that appeared in the 2004 Olive Jung Sale (Stack’s 7/2004:2). Plain Edge.
