STRUCK ON 1794 TAL CENT
1795 C-6a R2 No Pole NGC graded G6 . Dull dark olive brown and steel. Covered with uniform microscopic roughness. No significant marks but there are traces of light greenish verdigris in protected areas around the wreath. The date and legends are complete and clear, even rather strong for the grade on the reverse. EDS. Our grade is net G5. The eye appeal may improve if properly brushed. 2543470-001

1797 C-1 R2 1 Above 1 Variety, PCGS graded AU53 . Frosty medium brown and light chocolate with a few small splashes of lighter brown and tan on the reverse. The surfaces are smooth and satiny except for some tiny planchet imperfections in the weakly struck areas. Just a couple light contact marks including a fine diagonal scratch on the face and another in the field under the chin. Lightly worn with excellent eye appeal. Struck over a cut-down 1794 TAL Cent with New York. Most of NEW YORK is still visible from the top of the cap to RT in LIBERTY. LDS, Manley state 5.0, with obvious die failure on both sides. RTY and the opposing area at RICA are very weakly struck. A neat piece that has excellent eye appeal. Graded EF40 by Noyes, his photo #73553. Our grade is net EF40+. The 1 Above 1 feature is noted on the PCGS label. (The holder is scuffed on the front.) 1042.53/21288047
1795 C-6a R2 No Pole, Struck over TAL G5 . Sharpness F12 overall, stronger on the reverse, weaker on the obverse, but covered with moderate corrosion. No verdigris or marks. Slightly glossy dark steel. The date is weak but readable and the legends are clear. Undertype from the Talbot Allum & Lee cent is clearly visible below the date. The planchet is oval-shaped and the reverse is misaligned to K-7.5. Weight 81.4 grains.

1797 C-2 R3 NGC VF Details, Damaged . A sharp piece but covered with fine to moderate roughness, and the portrait is covered with scratches. Traces of reddish scale show on the reverse and there are several small digs. Not the most attractive half cent in the sale but nicely detailed, especially on the obverse. Our grade is net VG7 . 2543470-002
