 RED & BROWN N-7 EX HALPERN-FRANKENFIELD

yes LOT 374 1847 N-7 R2+ NGC graded MS64 Red & Brown . Frosty olive brown with about 25% of the planchet showing mint red. Just trivial marks including two tiny ticks in the field off the chin, a thin horizontal nick right of the nostril, a very light scratch left of star 11, and a spot of darker brown toning at the dentils just right of star 7. E-MDS, die state a, with fine radial die flowlines but no cud breaks. Struck with the reverse rotated 15 degrees clockwise. Our grade is MS60+. The attribution is noted on the NGC label. 260144-030

LOT 375 1847 N-7 R2+ NGC graded AU55 . Frosty light to medium brown with darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. Smooth and attractive with small contact marks, mostly on the neck and in the field before the portrait. None of the marks is significant. MDS, die state a, with fine die flowlines but no rim cuds. Our grade is EF45. 4352748-005

LOT 377 1847 N-7 R2+ VF25 . Sharpness EF40 with really nice eye appeal, but a rim cud from star 1 to below the 18 has been mostly smoothed off the coin (apparently to “fix” the error). Light file lines show where the cud was located and the margins of the cud are weak. Very nicely retoned glossy light chocolate brown. M-LDS, die state c.

LOT 376 1847 N-7 R2+ VF20 . Glossy medium brown and light chocolate fading to light olive brown in protected areas. Slightly sharper but there are some light contact marks on otherwise smooth surfaces. A tiny rim bruise under star 2 and a small nick right of the eye are the notable marks. M-LDS, die state b, with a strong rim cud at star 1.
