LOT 134 1797 S-138 R-1 G5. 5 points sharper but there is scattered pitting across both sides, and traces of verdigris on the reverse. Mostly glossy dark brown with hints of lighter faded ruddy brown on some high points. Strong date and LIBERTY, readable reverse legends. There is a minor planchet clip left of the date. E-MDS, Breen state III.

LOT 133 1797 S-138 R-1 NGC VF Details (Corrosion). VF sharpness but there is light corrosion on the surfaces with scattered pits and specks of old verdigris on either side. The notable detractions are a pit in the upper hair, a flake left of the first S in STATES, and hairline scratches over the hair braid and on the portrait’s face and neck. Bulging on the reverse partially obscures the peripheries, especially around OF, but the remaining legends are clear and date is strong. Our grade is G5. Certificate # 3316077-001
