1794 LARGE CENTS FIXED PRICE LIST
Lot 129 1794 S-63 R-2 Fallen 4 VF20. Glossy medium steel brown with light chocolate in protected areas. Smooth and attractive but unevenly struck with strong details on most of both sides but relatively weak at the bottom of the obverse and top of the reverse due to axially misaligned dies. Lot 130 1794 S-63 R-2 Fallen 4 VG7. Partly glossy chocolate brown with lighter brown on the devices. Sharpness F12 on the obverse, weaker on the reverse, but the planchet is covered with roughness. Areas of raised corrosion show before the eye and at the top of the reverse. No marks or verdigris. The date and legends are easily readable. $ 650 Ex; Woody’s 11/15/1965 - Lucien Birkler Collection
Lot 131 1794 S-64 R-5- Missing Fraction Bar XF45. AU sharpness but the obverse has been lightly cleaned and retoned a pleasing light ruddy brown with subtle iridescent blue overtones on rather glossy surfaces. The reverse is an attractive chocolate and medium brown. The notable marks in clude a horizontal hairline scratch right of the shoulder, another in the lower right obverse field, and a couple minor rim bumps on the reverse. Struck slightly off center on either side with a thicker border on the lower left obverse and upper right reverse, though complete dentils are visible on both sides.
