1794 Large Cent Price List
1794 LARGE CENTS FIXED PRICE LIST
Lot 43 1794 S-30 R-1 Head of 1795 PCGS AU50. Light to medium browns and olive with hints of lighter tan on the upper reverse. Only a couple trivial marks, nothing noteworthy, with a small planchet void over N in ONE. There is also traces of old verdigris in some protected areas as well as a couple spots of micro granularity around some reverse peripheries, not enough of either to prevent the straight grade by PCGS. Breen Die State II with the usual die chip in the lower left obverse, a die crack through R in AMERICA, and clash marks on both sides. 1365.50/05416551 $ 8,800 Ex; Col. Steve Ellsworth - Chris Pretsch
Lot 44 1794 S-30 R-1 VF35+. Rather glossy medium to dark chocolate brown with lighter brown toning on the highpoints. The only notable marks are a small, shallow planchet flake under the B in LIBERTY and a faint horizontal scuff of hairlines left of the C in CENT. The obverse is smooth but the reverse is covered with fine die rust, as usual in this die marriage, and the rust dulls the gloss. MDS, Breen state II. The die clashmarks on the obverse are clear and the crack through the R in AMERICA is strong. Graded EF45 net VF30 by Noyes, his photo #30953. Bland says EF40. Comes with a nice provenance. 6357149 004 $ 7,500
