Lot 39 1794 S-28 R-2 VG10. Sharpness near VF25 but covered with fine to moderate roughness, strongest on the reverse. Areas of shallow dark greenish verdigris show in protected areas on both sides, especially on the reverse. Reddish brown and light chocolate with lighter brown on the highpoints. A small pit on the chin and a dull dent at ME can help identify this cent. EDS. $ 1,050

Lot 41 1794 S-29 R-2 PCGS XF40. Tan and steel brown surfaces with a couple deeper reddish chocolate spots atop the portrait and back of the cap. The date and central hair are softly defined but overall great eye appeal. Lot 40 1794 S-29 R-2 XF40. Attractive tan brown with deeper steel toning on the obverse and hints of underlying reddish brown in the reverse protected areas. AU sharpness though the hair has been rengraved on the obverse, the other notable marks include a tick on the lower neck, a faint hairline scratch in the left obverse field through a couple of lower curls, and trivial chips in the obverse fields. Otherwise glossy, smooth surfaces. LDS Breen State IV with die breaks connecting the corner of the 4 do the bust, the rim to the nose, the cap to the dnetils and lower curls, and the rim through R to the wreath. There is also a bulege left of O in OF and die clash marks inside the right wreath. $ 5,500 Ex; Chris Pretsch

Lot 42 1794 S-29 R-2 ANACS VF30 Details (Corroded). Charcoal steel with underlying lighter brown on microgranular surfaces. There are scattered spots of old scale around the portrait, left obverse field, and peripheral protected areas, free of notable marks. Breen Die State II. 5336014 $ 1,350
