INDIANAPOLIS EAC 2024

LOT 668 1796 S-95 R5+ Draped Bust Basal State-1. Badly damaged and heavily worn, but there are enough details remaining to identify the variety. The date is weak but readable, the 6 being the clearest digit. Deep digs on both sides, the worst of these on the shoulder. Just a hole filler.

LOT 672 1796 S-110 R3 Draped Bust AG3. The obverse is slightly better, the reverse weaker. Covered with fine roughness on all but the highpoints of the obverse. Dull olive brown and steel. LDS, Breen state V, with a cud break at TY. The date is clear and most of the legends are readable.

LOT 669 1796 S-102 R4 G5. Slightly glossy medium olive brown and chocolate. Smooth with a few marks including some dull dents at the rim over the bust, a nick at LI, and another in the field off the lower end of the hair ribbon. The reverse is quite nice for the grade. Everything is readable.

LOT 673 1796 S-112 R4+ Draped Bust Fair-2+. Glossy medium chocolate brown. Smooth, just well worn. The only marks are a chip on the face and another in the lower right part of the wreath. Late die state with significant swelling that obliterates everything inside the wreath. The date and legend outside the wreath are easily readable, although some elements are weak.

LOT 670 1796 S-105 R5- Draped Bust AG3. Sharper but moderately corroded. No marks or verdigris. Slightly glossy dark olive brown and chocolate. The date and legends are complete and easily readable in spite of the roughness. EDS.

LOT 674 1796 S-114 R5- Draped Bust G5. A couple points sharper but there are two dull rim marks on the obverse: one at the bust tip and another left of the lowest curl. Otherwise smooth and quite nice, just worn. Glossy medium brown with darker olive brown in protected areas. The date and legends are strong. EDS.

LOT 671 1796 S-108 R4 Draped Bust AG3+. Several points sharper, particularly on the obverse, but there are many fine scratches on both sides, mostly on the reverse. Rather smooth with just a couple small patches of very fine roughness. Mostly glossy chocolate brown and steel with lighter brown on the devices. The bottom of the date is wearing into the rim but the rest is strong and the legends are clear.

LOT 675 1796 S-114 R5- Draped Bust AG3. A couple points sharper but dull with grayish olive brown toning. Very fine roughness covers this cent but there is no verdigris. Just a few marks including a small dig under the E in AMERICA. EDS, Breen state I, before any die cracks. The date and legends are complete and easily readable except for strike weakness at ER in AMERICA.
