EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 515 1853 N-7 R2 ANACS graded AU53. Frosty light reddish brown with excellent eye appeal. Mint luster covers the protected areas and the only mark is a tiny rim nick right of star 9. Just light friction on the highpoints. MDS, die state b. 7446880

LOT 517 1853 N-9 R2- NGC graded MS62. Frosty medium steel brown. Very sharply struck with nice eye appeal but there is a splash of fine verdigris in the hair over TY and microscopic traces of more verdigris at the lower curls on the neck. Otherwise there are no marks or other defects. Rare EDS, die state a, with fine die lines at the inner curl. Our grade is net AU50. 2068714-005

LOT 518 1853 N-11 R2 MS60. Lustrous steel brown with faded mint red in protected areas on the reverse. Sharply struck with smooth fields and very nice eye appeal. The notable marks are a small spot in the field before the nose and faint hairlines in the obverse fields. E-MDS, die state a. The tiny die line at the inner curl is gone but the fine line through star 6 is clear. A scarce die state.

LOT 516 1853 N-9 R2- MS62+. Choice lustrous bluish steel brown with peeps of faded red on the reverse and generous traces of mellowed red on the reverse. Satiny and flawless except for a fine hairline scratch from the chin to the dentils under star 3. Sharply struck E-MDS, die state b early, with repunching clearly visible on the 5 & 3 but no die lines from the inner curl.

LOT 519 1853 N-20 R3 Repunched 53, PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Lustrous medium brown and steel. Satiny mint frost covers this cent and the eye appeal is excellent. The notable marks are a tiny planchet flake in the field over the left side of star 12, a trace of very fine carbon under star 1, and a spot of darker olive brown toning inside the O in OF. MDS, die state b. The repunching at the bottoms of the 5 & 3 is strong and the die lines over RI in AMERICA are dull but visible. Our grade is AU58. The attribution and Tucker provenance are noted on the PCGS label. 406027.64/81762242
