LOT 206 1798/7 S-152 R2 Overdate Large 8 over 7 F12 The “Wide Overdate.” Sharpness at least VF25 but two of the drapery creases have been strengthened and there are areas of fine roughness on both sides. Rather glossy dark steel and olive brown with lighter brown toning in the roughened areas. Sharply struck MDS, Breen state II, with an obvious wave in the field below the hair ribbon. The date and legends are strong and the overdate feature is obvious. $1,950

LOT 207 1798 S-153 R3 Large 8, Style I Hair VG10 Sharpness VF25 but covered with fine granularity on all but the highpoints which are smooth. No verdigris but there are some marks including several faint vertical hairline scratches well hidden in the hair and a small rim bruise left of the upper end of the hair ribbon. Slightly glossy dark olive brown and steel with lighter brown highpoints. Rare LDS, Breen state VII, with a strong cud break at the bust. The date is strong and the legends are clear. $650
