1802 S-240 R3 VF20 Sharpness VF35 but there is an obvious pit or punch mark near the dentils over the tip of the bust. Traces of verdigris and darker toning show around this mark and there is a small area of very fine roughness left of the hair ribbon. The remainder of the planchet is smooth with glossy light olive and chocolate brown toning. E-MDS, Breen state II, with an uncracked obverse and fine cracks on the reverse. Both sides show obvious die clashmarks. Graded VF30 net VF25 and tied for CC#7 in the Bland census. Noyes says VF35 net VF20 and tied for CC#12, his photo #24331. $1,250

LOT 330 1802 S-241 R1 Stemless Wreath, Doubled Fraction Bar VF20 Slightly sharper but there are a few too many light contact marks for the sharpness grade. The notable marks are three closely-spaced scratches near the dentils over the end of the bust and a tiny rim nick over the E in STATES. Attractive glossy medium chocolate brown with smooth surfaces. MDS, Breen state III, with die cracks on the reverse. The Stemless Wreath and Doubled Fraction Bar features are obvious. $1,200
