1809/6 C-5 R1 9 over Inverted 9, MS65 Brown NGC. Very attractive lustrous medium steel brown with frosty golden tan in protected areas. The surfaces are satiny, even on the highest points of the devices. Just a few trivial marks including a microscopic speck of dark toning midway between star 2 and the throat, a tiny horizontal nick over the T in CENT, and a couple specks of crud hidden on the wreath ribbon. M-LDS, Manley state 2.0, Fuhrman state 3, with dentils nearly gone on the obverse. The undertype 9 (either repunched or over an inverted 9), is dull but visible. Our grade is MS62 .
