531 Researched Order of B. Khmelnitsky 3rd Class with document. Type 2. Award # 5555. Second type, with separate center medallion. Original silver nut. Comes with Orders Book (includes photo). Awarded to Guards Petty Officer (старшина) Kostenko P.V. on Jan 11, 1946, by decree of Feb 5, 1944 (other awards listed in the Orders Book are missing). Comes with copies of official research from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, including award cards, military records (include photo), citation and decree for this order. Guards Jun. Lieutenant Kostenko was originally submitted for Title of Hero of the Soviet Union, but downgraded by the famous General Ribalko to B.Khmelnitsky 3rd class. Also, comes with copy of the official letter from Central Archives of the Ministry of Defense, confirming the ‘catch-up’ nature of this awarding. Rare post-war catch-up top military award. Condition: Excellent condition for the Order, document shows some wear.
