EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 384 1838 N-8 R-1 NGC MS63BN. Lustrous olive and golden brown obverse, dark olive brown reverse. There are a trio nicks to the bottom right of star 3 and a diagonal pin scratch under the chin. Otherwise lustrous surfaces. MDS. 3838799-003

LOT 381 1835 N-19 R-5 VG10+. F12+ but there are several bruises along the rims of both sides, most notably at stars 1-2 and star 9. The other marks include a dull nick over star 12 and dark, old crud in some protected areas. Semi-glossy chocolate brown surfaces.

LOT 382 1837 N-5 R-2 Plain cords, Sm Letters AU55. Choice uniform golden brown. There is a trivial tick and a very shallow scrape on Liberty’s cheek that blends in very well, only visible under a glass. Otherwise fantastic eye appeal with frosty mint luster covering the protected areas. M-LDS.

LOT 385 1838 N-14 R-4 ANACS VF20. Slightly glossy chocolate and dark browns. There is a speck of old, inert verdigris at the berry above right from E in ONE, and some dark crud in the reverse protected areas. Otherwise fairly smooth with only trivial marks consistent with the grade. EDS. Our grade is F12+. 879222

LOT 383 1837 N-6 R-2 Plain Hair Cord, Med Ltrs PCGS MS64BN. Highly lustrous medium brown and steel with puff of darker olive on the obverse and hints of faded mint red on the reverse at STATES. There is a small vertical streak of toning over star 5 and another spot over the first S in STATES. Satiny mint frost covers this cent, excellent eye appeal. MDS. Our grade is MS60+. 37159.64/39472121

LOT 386 1839 N-8 R-1 Head of 1840 AU50. Choice tan brown surfaces with a couple obverse laminations. One one the rim at star 4 with a crack that extends around it, and another from the rim at star 10 with a crack that extends through the hair, ear, and eye to the forelock. Free of notable marks. MDS, die state b. Satiny, lustrous surfaces.
