LOT 152 1797 S-137 R-2 VG7. VG10 but there are pits on the portrait and obverse rims, and old scratches on the central reverse. Mostly glossy dark steel with dark chocolate brown on some high points. V-LDS, Breen state VII the die break through CA and swelling around MERICA. Nice strong date, full legends.

LOT 155 1797 S-139 R-1 VG10. Rather glossy chocolate brown and steel. The notable marks are nicks on the portrait under the ear, a pin scratch below that in the hair, and a nick on the bottom of T in LIBERTY. LDS, Breen state V. Smooth, hard surfaces.

LOT 153 1797 S-138 R-1 F15. VF30 sharpness but there is micro granularity on the surfaces and faint hairline scratches that blend in well on the portrait and obverse fields. A tiny rim bump over N in UNITED is the only other mark. Rather glossy dark brown and coal surfaces. M-LDS, Breen state VI. Struck slightly off center towards K-8.5. Graded F12 net VG8 by Noyes, his photo #36307.

LOT 156 1797 S-140 R-1 VG10. 10 points sharper but there are corrosion spots before the throat and face, as well as in the reverse protected areas. Otherwise free of notable marks with dark chocolate and olive brown surfaces. E-MDS, Breen state II. Struck slightly off center towards K-9. Graded F12 net VG8 by Noyes, his photo #25655.

LOT 154 1797 S-139 R-1 VG10. A couple points sharper but cleaned and now mostly olive brown and steel with subtle bluish tones and hints of faded red under the hair braid. There is also a chip in the field before the throat. MDS. Smooth surfaces, strong date and legends.
