 BREEN PLATE DIE STATE V

LOT 100 1794 S-22 R-1 VF25. XF45 sharpness but there is spot of micro roughness on Liberty’s cheek and the surfaces have been lightly burnished. Rather glossy medium brown and iridescent. M-LDS Breen state V, this is the Breen Plate coin for the die state. Graded XF40 net VF25 by Noyes, his photo #63206. Attractive with nice eye appeal.

LOT 101 1794 S-22 R-1 VF25. VF35 sharpness but there are several rim nicks and bruises on both sides. The most notable include one below 94, another behind the lower cap, and over BE in LIBERTY. Glossy medium and chocolate brown surfaces. LDS, Breen state VIII. Graded VF30 net VF20 by Noyes, his photo #25649. Smooth, glossy surfaces.

LOT 103 1794 S-24 R-1 VF30. At least 5 points sharper but there is a tiny punch mark between the tops of the B & E in LIBERTY. Otherwise choice and nearly flawless. Glossy medium chocolate brown and steel with satiny flow-line luster in the fields and protected areas on both sides. M-LDS, Breen state V late, with die cracks and die rust on the obverse and subtle swelling on the central reverse. Graded EF45 net VF35 by Noyes, his photo #33279. Removed from a PCGS AU Details Damage holder (PCGS label #35537.98/28606180 included). Comes with a nice provenance.

LOT 102 1794 S-23 R-4+ VG10. 10 points sharper but there numerous rim bruises and hairline scratches on both sides. There is also a notable nick on Liberty’s cheek. Golden olive brown mottled with ruddy chocolate and charcoal. LDS, Breen state V. Smooth, glossy surfaces. Comes with a provenance dating back to 1913.
