LOT 134 1825 N-10 R3 PCGS graded MS64 Brown . Frosty bluish steel and light olive brown. The surfaces are satiny and lustrous, the strike is sharp, and this cent has really nice eye appeal. The only marks are a few microscopic ticks including a pair of light diagonal nicks left of the curl on the neck and a speck of dark crud hidden inside the bottom of the E in AMERICA. Nicely struck with only a couple of the stars not fully impressed. MDS, die state b, with a very fine die crack extending from the tip of the bust to the peak of the 1 and on to the dentils between the 1 and star 1. Called MS60+ and CC#1 in the Bland census of confirmed examples. Noyes says MS60 and CC#3 with only 3 mint state examples known, his photo #21062. Our grade is MS60+. 36808.64/13072552 Ex James G. LOT 135 1826 N-1 R2 PCGS graded MS65 Brown, CAC Approved . Highly lustrous brown and light chocolate with subtle overtones of light bluish steel. The surfaces are satiny and the only marks on an otherwise flawless cent are tiny wisps of darker toning around the date and lower stars and a couple more at STA, plus a barely visible struck-through line or pre-striking planchet mark at the nostril and upper cheek. Sharply struck slightly off center to K-8. MDS, die state b, with a rim cud break above star 6. Remnants of the misplaced star right of the date are mostly gone, only a single diagonal dash remaining. Called MS60+ and tied for CC#2 in the Bland census. Noyes says MS60 and tied for CC#2, his photo #20926. Our grade is MS62. 36814.65/13072554
