LOT 79 1820 N-4 R4 Small Date, NGC graded MS63 Brown . Frosty chocolate brown and steel with lighter steel brown and tan in protected areas on the obverse. Sharply struck with excellent eye appeal and very light friction on the highpoints, but there are traces of extremely fine roughness on the reverse including some fine verdigris at UN. The obverse is choice. A thin diagonal nick over the E in CENT is the only notable mark. EDS, die state a. The center dot on the reverse is strong and the partial inner circle segments are sharp. Our grade is AU55 sharpness net EF45+, in the lower half of the condition census for the variety. 3755791-006

LOT 80 1820 N-5 R3 Small Date AU58 . Very attractive lustrous medium brown and light chocolate. The surfaces are satiny and this cent has choice mint state eye appeal. A glass reveals a hint of friction on the very highest points of the devices, and the only mark is a tiny pinprick midway between the end of the nose and star 3. M-LDS, die state b late. The fields are flowlined and most of the inner circle is gone, but dull remnants still show at stars 1-4. Graded MS60 net AU55 and CC#4 for the variety in the Noyes census, his photo #25487.
