LOT 237 1812 S-289 R1 Large Date, PCGS graded AU58. Frosty medium steel brown with tan in protected areas. The eye appeal is nice and the surfaces looks perfectly smooth, but a glass reveals very fine roughness and verdigris along the bottom of the bust to under star 1 plus more between stars 3 & 4. The notable contact marks are some fine scratches on the cheek and neck, none of which is visible to the unaided eye. M-LDS, Breen state III. The dentils on the reverse are gone. Graded AU50 net EF40 and tied for CC#15 in the Noyes census, his photo #58214. Our grade is AU50 sharpness net EF40. 1564.58/81447031
LOT 235 1812 S-289 R-1 Large Date PCGS XF40. Frosty medium chocolate brown and steel. Looks choice to the unaided eye but a glass reveals traces of microscopic roughness in some protected areas, mostly under star 13 and on the reverse. No verdigris and the only notable marks are a collection of microscopic pinpricks in the center of the nose. Extreme Rare EDS Breen Die State I, with clear repunching on the date, strongest at the left top of the 2. Struck with the reverse rotated 25 degrees clockwise. An attractive cent despite the minor issues. Our grade is VF25+. The attribution and Wells-Heard provenance are noted on the PCGS label. 36508.40/14007495

LOT 238 1812 S-290 R-1 Small Date PCGS XF40 CAC Approved. Medium brown and light steel with underlying lighter tan in some fields and protected areas. The best identifying marks include a trio of tiny ticks, one between stars 8 & 9, one under the first A in AMERICA, and the last below the left side of the ribbon tail. Breen Die State III early with the two sets of heavy die clash marks inside the wreath though the lapping along the tops of TES OF is just beginning to form. Struck with the reverse rotated 25 degrees clockwise. Our grade is VF35. 1561.40/27793656

LOT 239 Pair of 1812 & 1813 Cents. Includes 1812 S-291 R2 Small Date G6, and 1813 S-293 R2 VG8 net G6 for an attempted puncture under the bust tip. Both are glossy brown and chocolate with a clear date. Lot of 2 coins.
