LOT 222 1807/6 S-273 R1 Overdate Large 7 over 6, NGC graded MS61 Brown. Frosty chocolate and medium olive brown with specks of golden tan sprinkled over the obverse. Traces of light golden brown faded down from mint color show in protected areas around the wreath and satiny mint luster covers the fields. Looks mint state but there is a trace of friction on the highpoints. The only contact marks of any significance are a nick on the forehead and a very light scratch left of the eye. LDS, Breen state IV, with clashmarks, swelling at the lower curls, and a narrow rim cud at STA (difficult to see the cud in the holder). Our grade is AU55 . A nice example of this popular “Redbook” variety. The attribution is noted on the NGC label. 451739-001

LOT 223 1808 S-277 R-2 PCGS AU53 CAC Approved. Sharpness EF45+ or slightly better and choice except for a dull nick at the dentils over the L in LIBERTY, plus a smaller nick in the dentils at star 3 and another at the bottom of the reverse. Very attractive glossy light brown and tan with steel brown highpoints. Great eye appeal. Our EAC grade is EF40+. MDS, breen state IV. Star 1 is weak due to die fauliure at the opposing area on the reverse, but visible. 1543.53/81439034
