LOT 153 1796 S-83 R4 Liberty Cap PCGS graded VG08. Glossy light to medium chocolate brown and steel. Smooth and choice with great eye appeal for the grade. Well struck and the only mark is a tiny nick at the left top of the M in AMERICA. EDS, Breen state I, with an uncracked obverse. Our grade is VG8+ Choice. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. 35756.08/42905383

LOT 150 1794 S-71 R2 Head of 1795 G5 but Brass or Gold Plated. Slightly glossy bright brassy yellow with brown on the highpoints. The plating may be brass or gold; it’s rather bright for brass. The date is clear as are most of the legends, but the edge lettering was tapped down and lightly filed. May have been mounted at the rim over B in LIBERTY. Once thought to have been struck on a brass planchet.

Ex Heritage Auctions 132142:25023 (lot ticket included)

LOT 154 1796 S-87 R3 Liberty Cap ANACS graded F12. Rather glossy chocolate brown and steel. The obverse is covered with very fine granularity but there is no verdigris. The only marks are a dull nick at the cap below the L and a couple thin nicks at the rim left of the date. EDS, Breen state I, before any die cracks on the obverse. The 6 is weak, as always due to swelling in that area, but the other digits are strong. Our grade is F15+ sharpness net VG10. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. 7681359

LOT 151 Pair of 1795 Cents with Plain Edge. Includes S-76b R1 F12 net AG3 for corrosion, and S-78 R1 VG7 net AG3 for granularity. Both have a clear date. Lot of 2 coins.

From the Lucien Birkler Collection (includes the Birkler collection envelopes)

LOT 155 1796 S-88 Liberty Cap PCGS graded VF25. Glossy light to medium chocolate brown and steel. The fields are satiny and this cent has great eye appeal. No roughness or verdigris and the only marks are a dull nick at the right top of the wreath and a barely visible rim bruise at UN. Otherwise this cent is choice in every respect. MDS, Breen state II, with a die crack up through the right side of the 7 to the shoulder. Struck slightly off center to K-9. Our grade is F15+. 1392.25/16638750

LOT 152 1795 S-78 R1 Plain Edge ANACS graded F15. Very attractive glossy medium brown with slightly lighter brown in protected areas. Smooth and nearly flawless with great eye appeal, just worn. A tiny planchet flake in the field left of the cap plus a tiny arc of darker olive brown toning over the T in LIBERTY and a similar one over the second A in AMERICA are the only marks. The date is bold. LDS, Breen state VI, with swelling in the obverse fields. Our grade is F12. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. 7681357
