TNA HOF Collection Pt 1
SUPERB RED & BROWN N-12
LOT 1213 1848 N-12 R1 MS65. Lustrous mint red fading to light steel brown with half of the mint color remaining on both sides. Satiny and virtually flawless. The only marks are a small spot of darker toning over the T in CENT and a microscopic planchet fissure above ONE (as struck). MDS, die state b. The line from the dentils under star 4 is gone but a few of the die lines over ERIC are still visible. A beautiful cent, finest known of the variety by a small margin in the Grellman census.

MOSTLY RED N-12
LOT 1214 1848 N-12 R1 MS64. Lustrous mint red with at least two-thirds of the original color remaining, mostly on the reverse. A beautiful cent, flawless if not for some small spots on both sides. A speck at the dentils under star 2 and a spot of fine carbon on the upper part of the E in CENT are the notable defects. MDS, die state b. The fields are covered with fine radial die flowlines, the line from the dentils under star 4 is missing, and most of the earlier die lines over ERIC are gone. Another impressive example of the variety with lots of mint color. Tied for CC#3 in the Grellman census.
