TNA HOF Collection Pt 1

RARE LATE STATE N-30

LOT 1177 1847 N-30 R4 Repunched 1 G5. Sharpness F15 or slightly better but covered with moderate corrosion. Not especially pretty and there is some hard greenish scale on both sides, but the devices and legends are all clear. Dark reddish olive brown and steel. Very rare LDS, die state c, with a bold rim cud at the bottom of the reverse, one of only 9 known in the Grellman census.

LOT 1178 1847/47 N-31 R5 Repunched 47 AU50. The so-called Large 7 over Small 7 variety (same obverse as N-2 paired with a different reverse). Sharpness very close to mint state but recolored. The obverse is frosty dark steel with lighter reddish tan in protected areas; the reverse is frosty medium steel brown with hints of very faded red in protected areas. Sharp with nice eye appeal. No spots or stains, and the only marks are a few barely visible ticks on the jawline. LDS, die state d, with several fine die cracks on the reverse. The repunching on the 47 is clear and the top of the “Small 7” above the normal 7 is obvious. Tied for CC#8 in the Grellman census.

LOT 1179 1847 N-32 R4 AU50. Frosty medium brown and olive with lighter brown in protected areas. Sharply struck with light friction on the highpoints. Some darker olive brown toning on the lower half of the T in CENT is the best identifying feature. EDS+, die state b, with a light die crack at the M.
