LOT 312 1839 N-10 R3 Booby Head VF25. Glossy tan and light brown with puffs of light bluish olive on both sides. Smooth with minor contact marks and fine crud dusted into protected areas at the bottom of the reverse. MDS.

LOT 315 1839 N-15 R5+ Booby Head PCGS graded VF30. Glossy medium brown blending to light olive brown and steel in protected areas. Smooth and attractive with only trivial ticks including a couple in the field before the face and some more around the N in ONE. MDS. The attribution points are clear including the die line from the curl right of the ear. A nice example of this tough variety, the rarest of the year by a wide margin. Our grade is VF20+. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label.

LOT 313 1839 N-12 R4 Booby Head G5. Five points sharper with nicks and rim bumps. A rim dent left of star 2 is the most notable mark. Glossy medium brown and chocolate. LDS, Grellman state c, with a bisecting die crack on the obverse.

LOT 316 1839 N-15 R5 Booby Head G5. Glossy steel brown and olive. Smooth with a few contact marks including a couple dull rim nicks at star 4 and a planchet void or dull scratch at the end of the wreath ribbon. The diagnostic die line right of the ear and the crack on the reverse are clear.

LOT 314 1839 N-14 R3 Booby Head VF35. Slightly sharper with a very light rim bruise at star 3 and a small nick between the chin and star 1. Otherwise quite nice for the grade with smooth surfaces and light wear on the devices. MDS.

LOT 317 1840 N-1 R1 Small Date EF45. Glossy olive brown and steel. Sharply struck with slightly reflective fields and only trivial marks. The notable marks are a small nick right of the inner curl and a tiny rim bruise at IT in UNITED. EDS, die state a. The repunching at the left bottom of the 8 is sharp. Comes with a nice provenance.
