RARE INTERMEDIATE STATE S-158 WITH CUD

LOT 24 1798 S-158 R4 Small 8, Style I Hair PCGS graded VG10. Slightly glossy olive brown and chocolate. Looks smooth to the unaided eye but a glass reveals extremely faint granularity in the fields and protected areas. No verdigris, but there a few minor contact marks scattered over both sides. The notable marks are a light rim bruise under the bust tip and a fine scratch through the bottom of RIC. Rare M-LDS, Breen state V, with a strong cud break that connects NI in UNITED to the rim above. The date is strong and the legends are complete. Noyes photo #39208. Our grade is VG8 . No verdigris or significant contact marks. Slightly glossy olive brown and steel. Rare M-LDS, Breen state V, with a strong cud break at IT in UNITED.
