LOT 26 1798 S-162 R4 Small 8, Style I Hair G6. Glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. Smooth and attractive, just worn. A dull nick on the nose is the only notable mark. MDS with swelling in the obverse fields. The date is strong and the legends are complete.

LOT 29 Pair of 1798 Cents. Includes S-164 R4 Small 8 with Style I Hair LDS Breen VII with severe bulges at the bottom of the obverse G4, and S-167 R1 Large 8 with Style II Hair EDS G5. Both are brown and chocolate with a readable date. Lot of 2 coins.

LOT 30 Trio of 1798 Cents with Style II Hair. Includes S-167 R1 Large 8 EDS G4, S-167 R1 Large 8 LDS with die cracks and cud G4, and S-175 R3 Small 8 LDS AG3. All are brown and chocolate with a readable date. Lot of 3 coins.

LOT 27 Pair of 1798 Cents with Small 8 & Style I Hair. Includes S-162 R4 LDS G4 and S-163 R4 LDS Breen state VI with a sunken retained cud under the 17 AG3+. Both are brown and chocolate with a clear date. Lot of 2 coins.

LOT 31 1798 S-171 R2 Small 8, Style II Hair NGC graded VF35. Slightly glossy reddish chocolate blending to olive brown in protected areas. The surfaces are decent but not perfectly smooth, especially at STA where there are tiny specks of greenish verdigris. The only marks are a couple tiny hairline scratches from the nose to the cheek and two more on the bust, all old and blended into the toning. Sharply struck MDS, Breen state III, with a strong cud break left of the L in LIBERTY. This cent has nice eye appeal in spite of the minor defects. Our gr ade is VF25+ sharpness net VF20+. The attribution is noted on the NGC label. 3606492-002

LOT 28 1798 S-163 R4+ Small 8 & Style I Hair G6. Glossy dark olive brown and steel. The notable marks are some very faint hairlines hidden in the toning and a dull nick or chip under the N in ONE. MDS, Breen state IV. The date and legends are clear. Comes with a great provenance.
