1798 S-182 R4 Small 8, Style II Hair F12 Sharpness VF25 but there is fine roughness on much of the obverse while the reverse is smooth. No marks but there are traces of very shallow reddish crust in protected areas around the portrait. Mostly glossy light olive and brown. MDS, Breen state II, with a single set of die clashmarks on both sides. $450

LOT 246 1798 S-183 R5 Small 8, Style II Hair G4 Several points sharper but lightly corroded with traces of red and greenish verdigris on both sides There are some old scratches on the portrait and a pit at the right bottom of the second S in STATES. Partly glossy reddish brown and chocolate blending to dark olive brown in protected areas. Not a pretty cent but the date is clear and the legends are complete except for some weakness at the top of the reverse. $350
