1797 S-143 R5 Stemless Wreath G6 A couple points sharper but covered with fine roughness, strongest on the reverse. No marks or verdigris. Slightly glossy light to medium brown blending to darker steel and olive brown in protected areas. Slightly weak on the left edge of the reverse but everything else is nicely impressed. The date is strong and the Stemless Wreath feature is clear. $950

LOT 193 1798 S-144 R5+ Large 8, Style I Hair VG7 Sharpness F15 or a bit better but covered with moderate granularity. No marks or verdigris, and the color is an attractive chocolate brown with lighter brown highpoints. M-LDS, Breen state III, with an obvious wave across the reverse from the A in STATES to ER in AMERICA. The date is complete and strong and the legends are easily readable. Graded VF20 net VG8 by Bland. Noyes says F15 net G6 and tied for CC#9, his photo #29575. Comes with a nice provenance. $5,500
